The Frenchie Fit

Frenchies deserve better
than generic sizing.

Too often, ordinary dog clothing asks Frenchies to fit into shapes that were never really designed for them. What looks fine on a longer, leaner dog can feel awkward — or plainly wrong — on a French Bulldog.

The difference is not only style. It’s proportion, comfort, and ease.

Broad chests, narrow armholes

What fits a longer, leaner dog often pulls awkwardly across a Frenchie's wider shoulders and chest.

Short backs, long cuts

Off-the-rack lengths tend to ride up over the shoulders or bunch behind the ears — proportions that were never really theirs.

Thick necks, generic sizing

Neck openings often gap at the back and feel restrictive at the front. A size that works through the body can still feel wrong at the neck.

Short coats, careful fabric

With less coat to soften what they wear, every seam, tag, and finish sits closer to the skin. It has to feel considered.

La Maison Frenchie is being built around common Frenchie proportions — not the other way around.

Every piece in the collection begins with Rumi — a chocolate merle French Bulldog with an opinion about every jacket she’s ever worn. Broad chest, short back, expressive ears, and a personality that fills whichever room she walks into.

She is the muse behind La Maison Frenchie, and the reason it is being built carefully — one sampled fit at a time.

We photograph, measure, and re-sample around the real proportions of a French Bulldog — wide across the chest, short from shoulder to tail, thick through the neck, and expressive at the face.

What passes fit-testing on Rumi moves forward. What doesn’t, doesn’t.
